Hello,
the same OS & ruby version as the original poster who reported the
issue. I see the same symptoms.
Cowboy fix: adding "-D__BSD_VISIBLE" to CPPFLAGS gets raindrops gem to build.
Easily accessible and viewable sys/mmap.h:
